How do I manage fragrance fade

Why does my room fragrance seem to fade quickly?

If your room fragrance seems to fade quickly, there could be several factors at play:

  1. Low-Quality Fragrance: The quality of the room fragrance product itself can significantly impact how long the scent lasts. Higher-quality oils and ingredients tend to have more staying power, while cheaper products might fade faster.
  2. Poor Ventilation: Good airflow helps circulate the fragrance, but too much ventilation can cause the scent to dissipate quickly. Open windows, fans, or HVAC systems can disperse the fragrance, making it seem like it fades faster. Choose your diffuser position to maximize its dispersal without loss.
  3. Room Size: Larger rooms require more fragrance to maintain a noticeable scent. If the diffuser or fragrance source is too small for the space, the scent will seem to fade quickly as it struggles to cover the entire area. Our 1000 sq ft diffuser is great for those larger rooms.
  4. Absorption by Surfaces: Fabrics, carpets, and other porous materials can absorb fragrance, reducing the amount in the air. While this can help maintain a background scent, it may also make the air smell less fragrant over time. Again. Position is the answer.
  5. Temperature and Humidity: Higher temperatures can cause fragrance molecules to evaporate more quickly, leading to a shorter-lasting scent. On the other hand, dry air can also cause the scent to dissipate faster as there is less moisture for the fragrance to cling to. Strike a balance with good positioning.
  6. Nose Fatigue: Sometimes, it might feel like the fragrance has faded when, in reality, your sense of smell has become accustomed to the scent. This phenomenon, known as olfactory fatigue, can make you perceive the fragrance as weaker over time, even if it's still present.

By addressing these factors, you can help extend the life of your room fragrance and keep your space smelling pleasant for longer (extracts from the Perfume Society , Fragrance.org , Highsnobiety ). Hope this helps, but don’t hesitate to drop me an email if you want any further information.
